Team building Yes, Leaders Not Yet

On the 7 may 2009, the acca student of the Cti+ programme when on an outing. The theme was Going out as strangers and coming back as a team. I would say that it was a success if we limit ourselves to this. We had two main activities: Tug of war and Le parcours du combattant. In the tug of war I realised how lonely one could be to do a work alone. On the contrary, if you work together with your teammate, you could be very productive.
The second activity was indeed a really fun one. By the way a big thanks to sheik, the designer of the track. Well, this game consisted of six relays where everyone was involved. Haven’t you noticed that if one fails the whole team could be in serious problem? Yet, if one is extremely good, then he can cover the mistakes of his partners, am referring to the pink panthers.
What about making us leaders of tomorrow? How many was involved in setting up this outing, how many did come, how many participated in at least one of the tasks: serving food and drinks, preparing food, cleaning the premises..., how many??? A few. But do we become leaders with these tasks? Let me explain to you. The day you decide to:
Organise something; you are developing your entrepreneurship skill, you are creative, confident.
Participate; you are enhancing your networking ability, ease to communicate...
That is some examples. One thing is sure if we can have such a outing at least once in a month over a year, without doubt future leaders will emerge. This time we must prepare everything. Unfortunately it is not possible.
There are still some people that find it difficult to integrate the whole group not to say participate with them. We should not be hostile and stop unproductive commentary on others. Let’s have a clear vision and be united.
Wish you all the best my friends.
